E1 - COMPOSITION - ROUTINE

MARIA’S DAILY ACTIVITIES


Maria lives in a small apartment. It is on the second floor of an old building. She lives with her cousin. Maria is a student at Roosevelt University. She is studying psychology. She works part-time as clerk in a department store.
Maria gets up early every morning. She usually takes a shower and gets dressed before she has breakfast. She doesn’t usually have much time for breakfast, so she only has a piece of toast and a cup of coffee. After breakfast, she quickly cleans up the kitchen. Then, she leaves for school. She always goes to school by bus.
Maria arrives at school about 8:30. First, she goes to the cafeteria to meet her friends and have another quick cup of coffee. Then, she goes to class. She is in class from 9:00 to 1:00. She has a ten-minute break at 10:00 and a half-hour break at 11:30. She has lunch during her long break. After class, Maria goes to work. She works in a busy department store downtown. She likes her work and she likes to talk to the customers. She works very hard. At 5:00, she finishes work. Then, she takes the bus back home. It takes her a half-hour to get home.
In the evening, Maria sometimes has dinner with her cousin. When her cousin works late, Maria eats alone. She likes to listen to the radio while she eats. After dinner, she does the dishes. Then, she studies. She usually goes to bed late because she has a lot of homework.
In summary, Maria is a very busy person. She works hard and studies hard. She has a good life.
